I started taking them off with a double-edged razor. It was quite a slog using just the razor so I went to the hardware store & got a scraper. Much better! But it was so cold the decals were breaking off rather than peeling off. I finally quit, took a day off to do the grocery shopping, laundry & to make a pot of soup (French lentil--yummy).
The forecast for the next day was for sun & warmer temps. I finished the last two decals within 30 minutes using a hair dryer & the scraper, scraped the excess glue off & went inside to admire the fruits of my labor. It's so nice to be have unlimited views of the yard and Jim's truck! Unlimited views of the desert won't be long in coming.

Yes, this is only two windows. There was a lot of reflection in the photo of the slide-out window.
Thanks for stopping by. Take good care.
Dawn
Much better Dawn.....it seems a little silly to have decals you can't see thru on the windows! We see them a lot, and I always figures they were transparent.
ReplyDeleteI know you are getting excited! June is not far away!
It doesn't make much sense. Some of them might be transparent but these weren't. We'll be counting the days soon!
ReplyDeleteI just can't believe they would cover up the windows with decals. It looks so much better without them. Good job. You are going to have so much fun. I'm counting the days until we can get out of here but it won't be until the middle of May after Jim's doctor's appointments.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandie! Thank you--it was worth the effort! Where do you plan to go after Jim gets his doctor appointments over and done with? Take good care.
ReplyDeleteDawn, we'll be heading north to Montana. It'll take us about a month to get there. We don't travel far or fast each day. We're thinking we'll go up the west side of Nevada and see some things we missed the last time we came down that way.
DeleteThat sounds like a fun trip, Sandie! Montana is such a beautiful place during good weather--quite a change from Arizona! It must be fun to take different routes to get there--do you have a favorite? Take good care.
DeleteDon't know that I have seen that -- except the decals that you can see through.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about sending feedback to Northwood Mfg. Pretty sure I'm not the only new owner who has taken off these decals!
DeleteI can't believe they would put decals over a window that aren't transparent!!! Geez - you'll be happy you scraped them off. You know if you're taking a photo of something good, it would have moved right into the decal part of the window. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true! I would've had to ask all kinds of critters to take 2 steps to the right!
